Biography
Colin Mills is the Founder, Program Coordinator and Professor of Music Business in the Music Industry Arts Diploma Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada. Throughout his extensive career in the music industry, he has held various executive roles in audio production, media manufacturing, and private music education. He has also been involved in the promotion and management of numerous Canadian artists. In 2021, he received the prestigious Victor Tolgesy Arts Award from the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Arts Council for his contributions to the city's cultural life.
Colin is actively involved in several committees within Algonquin College. As a founding board member of the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC), he served as Executive Treasurer (2015-2019). Secretary (2020-2024) and President of the Board of Directors until May 2026. Additionally, he was a member of the Ottawa 2017 JUNO Awards Stakeholder Relations Committee and co-produced the After the Storm benefit concert in 2018, which drew over 5,000 attendees and raised money for the United Way tornado relief efforts in the Ottawa region.
A lifelong musician, Colin continues to showcase his talents on stage and in the studio with a diverse array of Canadian performers.
